At UFC 196 Nate Diaz returned to the UFC octagon, defeating Conor McGregor in their welterweight matchup. And once again propelled himself back into the spotlight of the MMA world. Diaz has always been a character in the sport, something which on more than one occasion has been a detriment to his career.
Speaking his mind the Stockton California native often finds himself at loggerheads with his opponents and the top brass of the promotion.
Following his victory over the much-lauded McGregor. Nate Diaz now finds himself very much in the mix. With a strong performance recently against Michael Johnson he burst back on to the scene after a very long lay off from the sport. He now finds his name being mentioned in the same circles as the UFC’s welterweight champion Robbie Lawler who is currently without an opponent for his next fight.
With a rematch fight at UFC 200 against McGregor looking like the most likely outcome. There is no doubting his stock has risen and immensely at that. How he will fare in the rematch and or any other welterweight bout will determine a lot for the future of the Stockton bad boys career.
