Middleweight fighter Gegard Mousasi took on late replacement Ilir Latifi after his scheduled opponent Alexander Gustafsson had to pull out due to a cut injury. Mousasi dominated the fight, but without creating a huge impression on the UFC faithful.
The former Strikeforce champion has a history of seemingly taking some fights with an over relaxed attitude and approach. Perhaps he gets at least some of that from one of his mentors, the great Fedor Emelianenko.
But with a professional record of (34 – 3), it obviously hasn’t affected his career in a huge way. But may have in fact contributed to some of his wins.
Mousasi is a fighter, meaning there are many that look up to him in the sport. Having fought across most of the major MMA promotions. He became the DREAM middleweight champion and Strikeforce light heavyweight champion along the way.

Here he is against a young rising fighter in Ilir Latifi who took the fight at very short notice, against one of the most seasoned and dangerous fighters in the sport. So quite a baptism of fire for the Swedish Albanian fighter in his first UFC fight.
Let us watch a Gegard Mousasi does what he does best in his own unique style. A style some fight fans will enjoy while others not so much so. It has nevertheless turned him into one of the most successful fighters in the world of mixed martial arts.
And here in his UFC debut, the veteran Mousasi is fed a quite inexperienced fighter in Latifi. Who jumped at the opportunity, when given the opportunity to fight one of the biggest names in the sport at short notice.
