Fixed Fights In MMA: Alleged of Course
Here we take a look at 5 different MMA fights that many speculate were allegedly fixed. It’s a constant in the world of combat sports, was it or wasn’t it! They went down too easy, tapped to quick, the referee jumped in too soon, he was in on it! Only recently Holly Holm was forced to defend the accusation that UFC fights were fixed on the Larry King show.
Who really knows right, but one thing is for sure. Fixing in all types of sports has been around for along as sport itself. Whether asking a favour of a friend to let the little guy win. Or crime syndicates making huge money all around the globe. So it does exist in varying degrees across any and all sports. The issue is that many time only one fighter in a match will know they have to lose.
Realistic Fights That Were Fixed
And so these fights can and do look very realistic as only one part truly knows what is going on. So when the opponent eventually loses, the winner is really none the wiser. And as a result, does not have to play off that they didn’t know what was happening.
In this video, we are taken through a whole laundry list of fights and fighters. Who at one point or another have been involved in some very dubious matches. Many of those named have gone on to build a career in throwing fights, admitting as much in later interviews. All but destroying their legacy in the sport, which in the end is obviously not as important as the paycheck.
