Conor McGregor: Doubt Me Now – Full BT Sport Documentary 21/7/17

Conor McGregor Doubt Me Now Short Documentary

The BT Sport documentary released on 21st July 2017. Takes a much closer look at the huge build-up to the monster fight that may break all records. Between UFC Lightweight and former Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor. And the legendary 49 – 0 boxer Floyd Mayweather, which takes place on August 26th.

The documentary features interviews and analysis from those who have worked with and who know Conor well. These include his old boxing coach from Crumlin boxing club in Dublin. His former coach Philip Sutcliffe says that Conor was only getting good in boxing when he decided to leave and try MMA. Philip didn’t like the sport at the time and still doesn’t.

We hear from his current striking coach Owen Roddy who talks about Conor’s ability to read the fight. He had good boxing skills, but it was this ability to read the fight which he found most impressive. We also hark back to Conor’s appearance on the Conan O’Brien show. Where when he was asked if he would like to fight Floyd Mayweather. He commented saying;

“Who wouldn’t like to dance around the ring for 180 million dollars.”

The Build-Up To Fighting Floyd Mayweather

That comment is widely viewed as the spark which set off the back and forth words, which led us to where we are now. With cuts and edits of interviews where both Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather spoke about their desire to shut the other up. It’s a crossover fight which is most definitely getting many fight fans hyped.

Conor’s appearance at Michael Conlon’s first professional boxing match. And subsequent soundbite where he told the listening boxing media;

“The whole World’s gonna eat their words. Trust me on that.”

Cut to Dana White and Leonard Ellerbe whose job it is to organise and promote the mega-fight. Not a hard task when you have two of the best trash talkers in the game going toe to toe. As Dana White has already said, “It’s the biggest fight ever in combat sports history.” So let’s get ready to rumble.
