Cody Garbrandt vs. Thomas Almeida Full Fight
Why you need to watch: Cody Garbrandt vs. Thomas Almeida. UFC Fight Night 88 – May 29, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This preview is the result of a surprising amount of “fan” / subscriber requests. For something on this upcoming fight between two of the top 3 prospects at 135 lbs. (Sterling as well). Both fighters are only 24 years old, undefeated and have shown incredible striking and finishing ability in their careers thus far.
Interestingly, Cody is a product of (Western) boxing and amateur wrestling. Two very American staples, and he is native American himself. Almeida is a product of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a very (Chute Boxe) Brazilian approach to Muay Thai, so they are very good representatives of their respective countries as well.
While I focus briefly on the grappling of Cody, with Almeida, I really didn’t have sufficient footage to display and/or explain much of his ground game, so I kept this to just an introduction of their stand-up/striking skills. Nothing fancy here everyone, just a fun fight preview. Enjoy, cheers!
