Cody Garbrandt – Skill Breakdown / Film Study / Highlights *NEW* 2017

Cody ‘No Love’ Garbrandt – Skill Breakdown / Film Study / Highlights NEW by Brendan Dorman.

“Where’s the Love?”

Cody Garbrandt, the 26-year-old, is now the undefeated, reigning UFC Bantamweight Champion. After becoming only the second fighter to defeat Dominick Cruz at UFC 207. Handing him his first defeat in almost a decade. He is ranked #5 in the UFC p4p rankings.

He began boxing at the age of 15, trained by his uncle, an Olympic alternate in the sport. In High School, Garbrandt competed in wrestling and football. Winning a state championship as a freshman in 2007 and was a runner-up in 2008. Garbrandt was also a Senior National All-American in 2010, but ultimately turned his focus to boxing over wrestling. As an amateur boxer, Garbrandt compiled a 31-1 record. This to me, is his single greatest asset and reason he was able to do to Dominick Cruz what no one else has to date.

Here we will breakdown the journey from heavy-handed and hot-headed prospect to world champion. I’ve covered TJ Dillashaw recently so it seems fitting. While I have no interest in the drama re: Team Alpha Male, I like both fighters a lot, and their skill sets are both phenomenal. So…..without further ado.
