The submissions of ‘Do Bronx’ Charles Oliveira are not only technical sorcery, he has the UFC record for the most submission wins in the organization’s history at 13 and the second most finishes at 15 (the last two have been KO / TKO finishes).
With a long and impressive record (last loss was late 2017 to Paul Felder) he is fighting a whole new beast in the seemingly re-focused Kevin Lee, whom after moving his training camp(s) to Tristar Gym and keeping expert striking coach (and my main man) Dewey Cooper, just finished one of the top prospects (not just from a grappling standpoint) in the UFC, Gregor Gillespie via spectacular head kick. I’ve broken down Gillespie, and did a quickie on Lee, but never Oliveira until now.
The focus won’t be on his losses or knockout finishes but I do want to explore the dangerous submission game of ‘Do Bronx‘ Charles Oliveira before putting my head down and getting back to Khabib vs. Tony as here there will be something to learn for everyone. Without further ado.
