Arlovski vs Mir Countdown to UFC 191
UFC 191 Countdown goes behind the scenes and inside the training camps of Andre Arlovski and Frank Mir. As the two resurgent heavyweights meet inside the Octagon this weekend in Las Vegas. Arlovski and Mir have both previously reached the heights of the division, having both at one point been the UFC heavyweight champion. Originally scheduled to fight when Mir held the belt. The original matchup never happened due to Mir being in a career-threatening motorcycle accident.
As a result, Arlovski fought for and won the interim title against Tim Sylvia. Almost a decade later and now these two veterans are set to face off for a potential number one contender spot. And both are experiencing a renaissance in their careers, with Arlovski having won all five of his last fights. While Frank Mir has added some improved boxing to his skillset. Something we have seen on show as in his last fight where he knocked out Todd Duffee with a highlight reel finish for the ages.
Both Arlovski and Mir Have Improved
Arlovski too has seen improvements in his game with some outstanding performances. Including his epic encounter against Travis Brown, where the two went toe to toe. Seeing both men on the canvas throughout the fight, but Arlovski finishing Brown with a brutal uppercut combination.
Now the pair will clash at UFC 191 in a long-overdue matchup that should have taken place ten years previously. Both men believe they can still climb the mountain and regain heavyweight gold.
