Anthony Joshua may only be the World Heavyweight boxing champion for a relatively short time. But he’s not short of challengers who are eager to knock him off of his perch. Not only in the world of boxing itself. But also from the sport of mixed martial arts.
With both boxers and MMA fighters alike, salivating at the money made by pound for pound great Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor crossover super fight. Joshua now finds himself the target of offers to do the same. But for now, at least, the Champ doesn’t see himself making any moves to it a reality. Joshua commented,
“It’s interesting…Mayweather waited until the end of his career…I’m just becoming my own in the sport…let me master what I’m trying to achieve first…I don’t take boxing for a game…the other guys calling me out, I think they’re lost,”
Solid advice from a guy who has moved up the rankings in a relatively short space of time. For now, he is laser focused on building his own legacy and working toward becoming an icon in boxing. Then perhaps when the time is right, who knows? But until that day, let the respective sports and fighters continue to do what they do best.
