Anderson Silva vs. the Touted Successor Uriah Hall UFC 198

Anderson Silva Faces Supposed Heir To His Throne Uriah Hall

Remember when Uriah Hall burst onto the scene with a series of “flashy” and devastating knockouts during his stint on The Ultimate Fighter 17. Hall was almost immediately being compared to the reigning middleweight champion at the time, “The Spider” Anderson Silva.

There was, in fact, rumblings that Hall may be fast-tracked to face Silva in a Superfight between somewhat of an unknown and one of the greatest fighters to ever grace the octagon.

Truth be known, there was no one in the ranks of the UFC’s middleweight division that could get near the champ. So the UFC were seemingly quite open to the idea of testing a guy who was blowing through each and every one of his housemates. That was until of course, Kelvin Gastelum famously stole his thunder at the Ultimate Fighter 17 finale! Taking some of the shine from sparkling Hall hype train.

Losing To Michael Bisping

Coming off a decision loss to Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 84. Which now makes it three losses out of his last four fights. How will the now 40-year-old Silva look back on home soil in Brazil…. revitalized?

Against Hall who himself lost to Robert Whittaker at UFC 193 in a fight, he was a favourite to win. Can Primetime performance finally catch up with that train which set him on a career path to stardom in the sport? Or will the Spider once more rise again from the ashes in an effort to redeem his record from the jaws of yet another defeat.

We find out on May 14th at UFC 198 on a card headlined by heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum who defends his title against Stipe Miocic. Can Silva vs Hall steal the limelight their eventual head to head would have garnered a few short years ago? Let the hype begin!
