Vasyl Lomachenko (A gLitcH iN tHe MaTRiX) Skill Breakdown / Film Study / Highlights.
While this will be a skill study like most others, it will take a keen look into some advanced striking concepts that I will try to make accessible for all, in particular things that could aid my (mostly) MMA-based subscribers. Evasion over protection, footwork over flash, types of head movement, and when to pressure the counter puncher, or become one. Of course, I’ll have my take on a few other things as we go, enjoy….cheers!
Vasyl Lomachenko is a Ukrainian professional boxer. The WBO junior lightweight champ since 6/16, after holding the WBO featherweight title from 2014 to 2016. Known for his excellent speed, head movement, evasion, timing, accuracy, creativity, and (especially) lateral footwork (which in ways parallels his love of Hockey).
He oftentimes looks 5 steps ahead, and the “Matrix Meme” has been making the rounds after an on-air conversation between Max Kellerman and Roy Jones Jr. referencing the analogy. Lomachenko is one of the highest-ranked p4p fighters alive and arguably the greatest amateur boxer of all time. He won consecutive golds at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
