2017 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony: Sakuraba, Faber, Silva & Smith
Megan Olivi takes us on a whirlwind montage of a memorable 2017 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This year’s ceremony included pioneer Maurice Smith. A former kickboxer, who turned his talents to Mixed Martial Arts becoming a UFC champion in the process. MMA and Pride legend Kazushi Sakuraba! The former professional wrestler joined MMA and became known as one of the most creative fighters in the sport. Remembered by many for his battles with the Gracie brothers. Thereby earning him the nickname “Gracie Hunter.”
UFC Matchmaker Joe Silva made many of those big fights we all remember. From choosing opponents, finding talent. Joe helped to shape the UFC and MMA into what we now see today. And “The California Kid” Urijah Faber. A fighter who as he puts it, hustled, in the smaller weight divisions n a time when there wasn’t much to be made. A true pioneer in the smaller weight divisions. Faber has seen and done it all. Yet another worthy host of individuals added to the UFC Hall of Fame.
