Ronda Rousey Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Camp

Ronda Rousey Training BJJ With Gracie’s

Some footage of UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey as she sharpens her jiu-jitsu skills at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Torrance, California. In this video, the brothers Ryron and Rener Gracie explain what she has been learning, why she’s so quick to absorb information, and how good are those armbars really are.

Rousey has blown through the UFC bantamweight division since being crowned it’s the inaugural champion. Undefeated in her professional career, she went to the Gracie Academy to work on the parts of her game which were lacking. And showed an approach to learning which champions in her position often don’t.

Both Ryron and Rener are extremely generous in their plaudits, saying that she approaches her learning like a white belt. But has the grappling skills of a back belt when on the mats. And according to the Gracies, this is what separates the great champions from the mediocre fighters. No matter how high on the ladder they get, they are always willing and open to new ideas.

And while Ronda is obviously a high-level Judo player. She is still learning some of the tricks and skills used by Jiu-jitsu players to work into her own game. And with what she already knows she is able to roll with the Gracie brothers. Adding some of her own Judo skills, many of which are similar in style to BJJ, as BJJ is a derivative of the older sport of Judo.

So lets us take a loo and listen to what Ronda Rousey got up to when she visited the Gracie headquarters in California. How did she deal with the ground game of their students and coaches? And what can we next expect when she steps back into the UFC octagon in the coming months? Enjoy!
