Luke Rockhold on His Future at Middleweight and LHW
The former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold dropped into UFC Tonight. To discuss all things in the middleweight division. Fresh off his win over the former WSOF middleweight champion David Branch. Rockhold says that he is also entertaining the prospect of moving up to light heavyweight.
The elephant in the room that is current division champion Michael Bisping also popped up. As Rockhold talked about how he feels Bisping has avoided al the top contenders in the division. Not taking on Jacare or Romero. Instead, opting to face Dan Henderson who was ranked at 14th that time.
Now the champion is fighting a guy who isn’t even a middleweight. Making his way back to the sport after a 4-year layoff. In Rockhold’s eyes, it is unheard of for the champion to get such special treatment.
In the perfect scenario, GSP would not be able to make the Madison Square UFC 217 showdown. Allowing Rockhold to slide into his spot and take on Bisping once again. The second best possible outcome is that he faces the current interim champion, Robert Whittaker.
The fighter who he feels is the true current middleweight champion. Having faced all comers and now also waiting his turn for the Bisping show to play out.
