Georges St. Pierre RT Interview on Michael Bisping and More

Visiting Moscow to support his training partner Yukinori Akazawa in his debut for Russian MMA promotion ACB. Georges St. Pierre spoke to RT Sport about his upcoming bout with Michael Bisping. Weight difference, the ‘master plan’ for his comeback, and much more. GSP is on great form as he breaks down his world title challenge against Bisping at Middleweight.

Georges talks about respect in martial arts and how he would like to see more of it in MMA. He also talks about the fighters now in his gym who have come from outside Canada. Tristar now being home to a large cross-section of talent from around the world of combat sports. He also goes on to talk about his own skill and what he seeks as his weaknesses, with one of those being boxing.

And with that, he talks about his training with world-renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach. Freddie has been busy improving his boxing and will also now be in his corner for the upcoming Michael Bisping fight. A fight which has been a very long time in the making, where negotiations broke down on several occasions. And it actually turns out that it was Roach himself who was able to find a way to get the fight made.

GSP goes into detail about his preparations to take on the reigning champion at 185 lbs. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to fight bigger guys. But to fight them you have to train with them and as a middle-sized welterweight, he had some weight to put on. Now sometime later and a lot heavier, St. Pierre is finally reading to challenge for his second UFC title.

Bisping vs St. Pierre takes place at UFC 217, November 4th 2017 at Madison square gardens. Can the French Canadian make it two world titles, we shall have to wait and see?
